Non-metallic crowns surrounded by swollen and inflamed gingiva (soft tissue, dental meat) certainly do not contribute to aesthetics and disturb the complete smile. The common term used for gingiva aesthetics is – pink aesthetic.
A proper dental array is an aesthetic imperative, but it also affects the overall health of the mouth and teeth. Properly arranged teeth are easier to clean, and the distribution of chewing gum exerts are physiologically and favorably affect the tooth support device. On the other hand, incorrectly placed teeth are loaded with significantly stronger forces that cause weakening of the tooth support device (bones and fibers that hold the tooth in the jaw), and there is periodontal disease, tooth decay and other problems. Also, the inability to carry out good hygiene additionally complicates the situation. If all the teeth are present, and there is a poor teeth arrangement, orthodontic therapy is the right solution.
